A Deal So Good…
I don’t normally post here about the various sales and deals we find around the Internet. To be honest, if I tried to bring them all to you…well, I would have little time for anything else. Nonetheless, today I got an email that was so good, I just had to share.
This is where I will step aside and just let Thomas, our friend from USBfever, tell you what he has going on:
We are having a "crazy" sales (I should describe it as crazy because it is unbelievable low), we are having a microSD (T-Flash) card reader with USB Plug and attachable to keychain selling as unbelievable low price – US$0.01/pc.
This is a fantastic sale. The microSD card reader normally sells for $11.99, but you can have it today for only a penny. Of course, there is one small catch: only one per customer. So, what are you waiting for? Head on over to USBfever and check them out before it is too late. Supplies are very limited.

Three bucks later, it’s hopefully on its way.

$12.99 later I hope it’s on its way. Got a serial to USB adapter as well. Gear Diary reviewed this product too:

Ordered!
I agree that deals like this can be an exception to the unwritten rule that blogs like these are not ‘free advertisement websites’. JAMM is about posting good stuff readers want to know about, and this is one of those things.
Thanks!

Just got it in this afternoon, 6 days after ordering. There were some “damaged” places but these are just some things that make it a bit harder to position the usb plug in the laptop or the micro sd card in the usb plug. It actually feels a bit safer that things aren’t going to fall apart easily, even though it isn’t supposed to be this way of course.
Possibly this is because of the shipping, but the Gear Diary review also had a section on damage. However, what’s there to complain about for just $0.01!
Some images of the damage:

I would love to know if other people who purchased the USB plug recieved it in good condition, it would be a shame if people are not buying this because of one (two) reports that might not be representative.
All things considered the damage makes up for the largest part of this post, but the usb plug is fully functional and I still think it really is a great deal for just $3 (shipping included).

Hi! I just got mine today. No shipping damage at all. Works just fine – though it took me a little while to figure out without instructions (I didn’t read the GD review of it yet…nor will I until I finish my own). First impressions….this is really good…and oh..Kingston is selling something of similar caliber but it includes a micro to mini to standard SD along with the USB adaptor for $15.00…so this is really a good deal (if it works). Writing this comment, the drive has been detected and then disappeared about 3 times (not a good thing). But I will continue to use it for a while before writing my final thoughts on it. I’m curious Spmwinkel…how was yous packed? Mine was in a nice brown padded envelope.

Hi! I also had some trouble figuring out how to position the card in the plug – should I take the transparent upper part off, slide the card in, and put the upper part back? Because if I kept it on, it wouldn’t go in properly. I ended up bending the edge of the transparent piece a bit and now it goes in fine
Plugging the thing in my laptop went a LOT faster though, it was recognized immediately and I saw the content of my card before I expected the card to even be recognized. It didn’t disappear at all, perhaps some of the contacts are bended a bit? I’m having the same with my USB thingie that I need to have internet on my laptop, sometimes it just disconnects if it’s simply touched, very annoying.
And finally, it sounds like my envelope was the same as yours
. (Just with a different address of course
)
Have a great weekend!
