Zune 2uesday
It’s finally just about here,; seems like this has been an awful long time coming. Zune 2 launch day is tomorrow – time for you make it you and all that jazz.
And the surprising thing is … the new Zunes and the firmware update are getting a lot of love, and looking pretty damn good as well.
I watched a video demo of the new wireless sync capability today by Jason Dunn at Zune Thoughts, and I can’t wait to get that going on mine! We also found out today that all the rumors about being able to customize your new Zune for free were true. With Zune Originals, you can add lines of text, choose a color, and then choose from a series of ‘one of a kind’ designs. I don’t feel a great need to customize a Zune, but it seems like a cool add-on (especially while it’s free) that may turn a few heads.
I’m very keen to check out the new firmware tomorrow. In the meantime, there’s a ton of good coverage of the new Zunes:
Zunerama – Zune 80 and Zune 8 unboxings, galleries, software install screencaps and more …
Zune Thoughts – Zune V2 walkthrough, the above-mentioned wireless sync demo, new firmware details, and more …
Got Zune? – brand new Zune site launched this weekend by Chris Leckness (of Aximsite and Mobility Site fame) and his team, and already looking good.
It really feels to me like Zune is making some headway with this second generation, and certainly making some friends and influencing some people with the firmware update for all Zune owners.
Any of you planning a Zune purchase tomorrow?

I didn’t try the wireless synching yet as I have to rush to work, but everything else is SAAAWEEET! I think all I need is to get the new premium earphone and I’m set.
