US iPhone in Europe!

Well your iPhone may as well have been knitted by your mum, if your in Europe and imported a US model, because it’s illegal!

The American made models lack appropriate EU approval, noticeably the CE stamp, of the regulatory body that licenses electronic devices for the European Union, similar to FCC approval in the US. Due for release in Germany and Britain today, the German model is CE stamped, but there’s no clue if the UK model is likewise approved.

An interesting oversight by Apple,
and just maybe, inspiration for a great new cottage industry.
