Recently I’ve received and sent my very first SMS message and was slapped with $0.15 for each message sent and received and another $1.00 for a daily usage fee – can anyone say ouch?

Well, Gizmo has a way of cutting your SMS usage in half – all your outbound SMS via Gizmo5 are FREE. What the catch? You need a dataplan or WI-FI. In addition, they also provide you with an IM client. At this time I haven’t had a chance to try it yet – I haven’t figured out how to install it to my pocket PC as it seems like to be a JAVA Midlet.

Save on Text Messaging, Stay In Touch by IM on your Phone:

  1. Visit www.Gizmo5.com on your phone’s mobile web browser.
  2. Add your Gizmo, MSN, AIM, Yahoo, iChat, GoogleTalk and Jabber buddies.
  3. Send instant messages to your buddies directly from your mobile phone…FREE.
  4. Say goodbye to text messaging and SMS charges!!
  5. (Bonus Tip) Use the send file feature in Gizmo5 to skip MMS charges too!
