Zune Marketing Weirdness Roundup

Posted by: PatrickJ on Nov 07 2007 - 403 views

Oh yes - there is another ad in the new Zune 2 ‘Academy of Dreams’ series.  And it’s just about as spacy and odd as the previous one.  I don’t want to give too much away on this gem of an advert - but I have to say I’m not surprised nobody is sitting next to this guy on the bus.

Zune Marketing News Flash Number 2 for Today is that the original Zune tagline of ‘Welcome to The Social’ has been scrapped - and replaced by ‘You Make It You’. I hate to say it but that makes the original sound clever.  It’s worse.  The social wasn’t up to much, but it had some faint sense of street cred with its slightly bad phrasing - the new srtrapline just sounds syrupy and false and blahhhhhh.

Final - But Probably Most Important - Zune Marketing News Flash - THE Zune Tattoo Guy is talking to Microsoft and aimitattoo-zuneguyng to have his name legally changed to:

Microsoft (first name)  Zune (last name)

I am really looking forward to the Zune firmware update next week (which sounds excellent) - but it is very nice to have all this entertainment to make the days of waiting go by so much faster :)
