Oops, Mobius is leaking!

Well it seems that bloggers everywhere are signing non-disclosure agreements, but that doesn’t stop the drip drip drip of info getting out of the Mobius conference. Dieter over at WMexperts today posted us some links to things we can see and things, well, that we can’t.

Friend of the site (well, we like him, anyway) Jason Landridge presented on a few things that were pretty cool, notably “Oops I’m late” and “Lawn Darts.”

Another presenter Windows Mobile Shaman Derek Snyder1 also showed us the next version of Windows Mobile, and I’m not talking Photon. Good news: It ran quite well on on current hardware and is expected to be given to manufacturers in Q1 of next year. Our take (insofar as we’re allowed to have a public take) is that you’ll definitely want it, but you probably won’t riot if you don’t get it. The rest, as Hamlet might say, is silence under NDA.

I’d love to be a fly on the wall in Amsterdam at the moment! Most disappointing is the limited participation, but I’m hoping for some goodies soon, even an early Christmas present!

Pong Turns 35 - The Game That Started It All

Posted by: tjchan on Nov 29 2007 - 362 views

250px-Pong

2 players with paddles, invisible walls on the top and bottom, and a little white ball…such were the elements of the very first computer game in history. Simple, fun, and addictive - these are the words which describe it when it was the bleeding edge of not only technology, but what would become a multi-billion dollar industry many years later. Created by Atari 35 years ago this day, Pong was originally a coin-operated arcade game which later also had home console versions. Happy birthday old grandpa of computer games!

CONTEST DEADLINE: Wednesday December 5, 12:00pm US CST

t’s time once again for our Sprite Software contest.  Sprite Backup has just racked up another well-deserved award (as you can see above) and we’ve got copies to give away!

As many of you know, Sprite Software runs a monthly Sprite Backup Contest with us, with 3 free copies of their much loved and essential Sprite Backup product up for grabs. As an added bonus you’ll also get a copy of the ultimate security tool for your trusty mobile device - Sprite Terminator!

To get yourself a free copy of BOTH of these programs, it’s as easy as this:

- To enter for a chance to win, just add a comment to this post

- To get a second chance to win, tell us about the craziest / worst / most embarassing ‘data‘ that would be at risk if ‘a friend of yours‘ lost their device in a public place.  What would be THE thing that would have your friend rushing to get their copy of Terminator working on the remote wipe of the device - passwords and credit card details, saucy pictures of the last office party, whatever is the first thing that would have them breaking out in a cold sweat!

By entering this contest, you authorize Just Another Mobile Monday, and its representatives, to provide your personal information (such as, but not limited to your name and email address) to the sponsors of this contest should you be selected as a winner. Your personal information will not be sold by Just Another Mobile Monday, or otherwise retained for any purpose except that described herein.

It its quest to bring good times for the whole family and *ahem* increase productivity for business users, Astraware has announced that it will be adding Symbian to the list of supported platforms.

Using their expertise in touchscreen and non-touchscreen control methods, Astraware’s games will support both touchscreen UIQ devices like the Sony Ericsson P1i and non-touchscreen handsets such as Motorola’s highly acclaimed multimedia phone, the Z8.

So when’s it coming? The first quarter of 2008….
