On again, Off again, HP iPAQ 210?

Someone over at HP marketing must be playing with a random number generator, or there’s some serious inter-departmental communication problems. The HP site shows conflicting information on the release of the 210. Endgadget had this post dated 24th October

Then there’s this

Hello, is any body over at HP paying attention, since these handhelds have been touted and announced the amount of misinformation about them has been incredible and ludicrous.

On the same day at Brighthand, we are told the 210 is delayed, but the 110 is on the way.

“A supply issue discovered in the development of the recently announced HP iPAQ 200 products will cause the availability to be later than we had hoped in some regions of the world,” said Mike Hockey, Hewlett-Packard’s Worldwide Public Relations Manager. “We’re working to deliver these products to the market as soon as we can address the supply issues with our vendors.”

It doesn’t inspire confidence, does it? Oops where’s that motherboard gone? Here’s hoping the farce doesn’t affect the manufacture of what are expected to be the high end replacement for another deceased handheld favourite.

Now Engadget and Mobilitysite are saying that the 210 will ship Friday! Don’t believe them, the store page ship date is always 2 days in the future.

This makes me angry. And confused as heck.

I agree, somewhere at HP some one is responsible to oversee this and it’s not happening!
