Samsung SCH-i760, Want One?

Verizon has released the Samsung i760 and I might have to move to the States to get one. I remember seeing photos of this phone earlier in the year and thinking how sleek it was. Well, you lucky sods now have the chance to get your hands on one.

It sports a slide out QWERTY keyboard, as well as a number pad and jog dial on the front face. It has a touch screen the same size and resolution as the AT&T Tilt, is running Windows Mobile 6, and supports 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth. You can get one from Verizon for $300 after a $100 cashback offer on a two year contract. I’m going a bit green right now!

I wouldn’t mind one … but since its for VZW its pretty much useless for me.

Nah … scratch that. I’ll stick with the iPhone until they come out with something like the i620 with Quadband.

Or maybe the Treo 500 for AT&T…

This may be the phone I get in December since I’m in a Verizon contract for another year or so, and I do want a PDA phone with WM6.

I picked up the i760, upgrading from the palm OS treo 650. What a difference. The OS is awesome, so much better that the paml.

the 760 is terrific. Love the numberpad on the front (don’t have to tap the screen 2-handed to input numbers, like vmail password, or con-call numbers – I can feel the buttons easily without looking) It has multiple “OK” buttons to use instead of having to touch the screen, full querty keyboard for mail or web browsing.

Only negative is the burn rate on the battery. I found that setting the email updates a little further apart, and turning off wifi unless needed saved quite a bit. I also picked up chargers (combo synch cable and usb charger, car charger, additional desk charger, all 3 for about $30 (nice!)) from thepocketsolutions.com, which really negates the battey issue.
