Want offline browsing for your mobile?
.
MaximumSoft Corp today announced the release of
WebCopier Mobile 4.5. It allows you to save web page content to your desktop and then sync it to your mobile device to take it with you on the road. It consists of a desktop application and a mobile application that combine to give you a full offline browsing experience, only limited by the amount of storage space you have on your mobile. The program selectively saves whole or parts of web sites, can be scheduled to update these saved websites and scheduled to download to your mobile or to a storage card . An especially useful tool if you are going to be in remote locations and know you will probably have to access vital information from your favorite websites.
WebCopier is compatible with Windows 95 through to Vista and Pocket PC 2003/2003SE, Windows Mobile 5.0/6.0. WebCopier sells for $30 US but they offer an option of free lifetime upgrades for
$40 US. I can already think of uses for this, can you?

Webaroo allows offline browsing on the PDA, but not to the extent WebCopier does

I’d like to point out that this article says “lifetime updates”. This is not true. According to:
http://www.maximumsoft.com/buy/index.html#wc_pocketpc_buy
You receive lifetime upgrades for the $40 version.
Remember the difference between updates and upgrades. Updates are anything of a minor revision so 1.22 to 1.45….whereas upgrades are a full number like 1.0 to 2.0 (generally) with some companies that charge a major revision for 0.5. So if I company charges for updates…that would well..that’s just wrong as it should be updated for life until an upgrade comes around.
