Gadget Suckiness – Explained!

If the average Joe can’t figure out how to add contacts using a Moto RAZR, forget putting in a network setup screen that asks them which type of wireless network security their SSID uses. If you can’t figure out how to make a setup screen have regular old English, then you’ve made your product too hard to figure out by regular people.

Jeremy Toeman’s LIVEdigitally site has a very cool post up on the 8 reasons why most gadgets suck. It was borne out of his frustration while testing new devices this weekend, and is a funny and well written piece.

I’d agree with most of his reasons, and really think most of us could easily come up with a number of gadgets we’ve used (or tried to use) that fall into the ill-conceived, or unusable interface categories.  And I definitely agree with the ‘too much jargon’ reason that’s quoted from above.
