I have found my ZEN… (Part-I)
These past couple of days, I can’t seem to get anything going. It feels like something was missing, it’s like the ZEN within me is nowhere to be found. Suddenly, a bright light from… Pfft. Anyway, after much waiting, Amazon finally have the 4GB Creative ZEN in-stock, and while reading through the pages, I accidentally hit the "order" button. Honest!
Looks like Amazon.com is right-on when it comes to delivering the goods. A day after "accidentally" hitting the order button, my ZEN is by my doorstep courtesy of the guy with an ugly brown shirt. Of course I didn’t mention I added the extra $20 get it delivered next day. What can I say, I hate waiting. Well, I think I did enough blabbering, and now it’s off to the fun part! I’ll be reviewing this little gem in a couple of weeks, but for now just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.
Here it is out of the brown box. Yes, I’ve found my ZEN inside a brown box.
Another view of the box, this time from the top.
Nice! I can feel my Zen coming back.
What’s in the box: Installation CD, USB 2.0 Cable (I’ll talk about USB cable later), Earphone, Quick start guide, and bunch of colorful papers.
Another shot of the package contents.
Even with my girlie-man hand, this thing is very small, and not to mention that it weighs almost nothing. FYI, those are not the actual screen. It’s just a simulation. It’s actually the protective sticker used for shipping.
Zen without the protective sticker.
It’s alive! Finally, the Zen will greet you with a, uh… Zen screen.
Zen in radio mode. There are 32 presets you can configure.
Zen in Music mode. the Zen came with a couple of sample tunes.
Zen next to its bigger cousin, Zune.
Some size comparison shot. L-R: Zune, 5G iPod, and Zen.
More size comparison shot. Apple iPhone added to the mix.
Almost as thin as the iPhone. T-B: Creative Zen, Apple iPod, Apple iPhone, Microsoft Zune. That’s it for now, I hope that you guys enjoy it as much as I did. Whoops, I almost forgot. Remember I said I’m going to talk more about the USB cable. Well, here’s why.
So what’s wrong with this picture. So here I thought that my iPhone’s USB cable was on the short side, but this! Geez! More pictures to come. If you have any question, please let me know and I’ll try to answer them as much as I can. Is it NoWire or Aczon? I’m confused.
Anyhow, can’t wait for Part 2!

I think one of the many things we all want to hear about is a little more background on the ‘accidental’ order. Like how you were able to accidentally get the next day shipping part done

I agree. I have ordered a number of things from Amazon. I can see accidentally hitting 1-click order and bam, you are in the checkout. But I had no idea there was 1-click overnight express as well.
I will have to be careful.

Hmm, it must be something new at Amazon that they are testing. I sure learned my lesson though.
