According to Nate from Zune Scene, the Zune 2 will launch on October 16. And apparantly the pictures you see here are confirmed as legit, or rather 2Legit (sorry, I couldn’t help it).

Now the Zune has some serious iPod competition and is playing a major game of catchup. Other companies, such as Sansa and Zen, also are putting out some great products to compete with the iPod line, which is great news for the consumer, but scary news for the Zune. Do they have what it takes to compete? Will they actually put out a product on October 16? Stay tuned…
