vTap Rocks for Fast Mobile Video Searching & Playing
Have you tried out vTap yet? It is a very cool program from Veveo for quickly searching for AND playing video on your mobile device.
I just got a chance to play with this on my 8525, and it’s got lots of nice features:
- Very quick search for video clips (or Wikipedia entries) – starts searching as soon as you start typing and returns good, relevant results
- Plays video clips once you find them, with a nice little player of its own – which you can swap into the background, set its zoom level, go full screen etc.
- Today screen plugin
- Show Past Queries, History, and Bookmarks options with one tap on right Soft Key
- Nice range of options and makes good use of Soft Keys for options and controls
- Over-the-Air .cab file install for Windows Mobile 5 / 6 Smartphone and Pocket PC devices
Some more screencaps after the break …
If you haven’t searched for anything, you can just glance through current, popular video clips.
Results when searching for Top Gear clips.
A look at some of the Soft Key menu options.
Also tried this out quickly on the iPhone – no program install of course, just browsed to the main vTap URL – it works well and uses the iPhone’s in-built player.
vTap really looks like it could become a must-have app for video search and playback on mobiles. Check it out at:
