The World’s Smallest GPS, Exclusively At Proporta

image

I just got an email from our friends across The Pond, at Proporta, with news about their latest accessory, the Freedom Keychain GPS SiRF III Receiver, which is scheduled to be available next week.

This tiny GPS receiver weighs only 30 grams (I have no clue how many ounces that would be), and includes the latest of GPS technology. The most important feature, however, is that this GPS receiver can slip right onto your keychain, and connect to your Pocket PC from your pocket, purse, or briefcase.  This will free up valuable space in your gear bag, which is always appreciated.  Of course, it is compatible with all the mapping software currently available

This GPS receiver also promises a solid working time of up to 10 hours, and is able to connect simultaneously to up to 20 satellite channels.

The receiver is expected to cost $129.95.  Watch for it next week from Proporta.

Or you could always just go out and buy a TyTN II of Tilt with a built in GPS… Assisted GPS to boot…

I don’t think the TyTN 2 has a keychain attachment ring. So there – it is missing a critical feature!

“only 30 grams (I have no clue how many ounces that would be)”

Oh, come on now, I would expect you of all people to know this… :)

Typing the following into Google — “30 grams in ounces” — comes up with just over 1 ounce, or 1.05821886 ounces to be more precise.

Thanks for reporting on all the cool toys. :)

LOL. Thanks, Dannyka. :)

To be honest, I did think about googling a conversion, but I was on the train at the time and running low on battery. Plus, at 6:00 am, I tend to be really lazy. :)
