So You Want to Build an iPod Nano…

There is a lot of profit in it for you if you do it right.  Line up the best suppliers, parts, distribution system, advertising, marketing, packaging, design, components; you get the idea.  So how much is the unit going to cost you in hardware alone?  According to the geniuses at iSuppli, the 4GB model that sells for $150 costs $58.85, and the 8GB model that sells for $200 costs $82.85 in parts.   They actually managed to lower their costs on this new gen while offering more goodies.  Do you think they put the squeeze on their suppliers?
