Tons of Good News and Updates Coming From WebIS
We have some great news for all of you WebIS fanboys out there. And I will admit that I have sipped from their company Kool Aid. I think their products are well made, and certainly well designed to meet the needs of the Windows Mobile market. Alex Kac, the CEO and founder of WebIS made several announcements today.
First, he has finally officially released FlexMail 2007 Rev 2.3. Those of you who have been using the Beta version or FTF version will find nothing new here, it is simply the official release of the latest FTF. For the rest of you, however, you will certainly want to check this out as it has too many bug fixes to mention here. But before you head over, you should also know that the really big news is the upcoming public beta of FlexMail 4.0, including the much anticipated Today Screen Plugin (on the left is a sneak peek from the WebIS Forums). You beta testers will want to keep an eye on the WebIS Beta Forums as this should be coming in the extremely near future.
Along with the new update to FlexMail, WebIS also announced the release of Toolbox 3.12, which I reviewed, here. The new version fixes several bugs, and adds Windows Mobil 6 compatibility which had been a significant drawback in the previous version.
Think that is all? Not quite. While you are over there at the WebIS Forums, be sure to check out the new public beta of VoiceMinder 2.0. Patrick reviewed that one, here, and loved it. The new update includes Ogg Vorbis support, a new UI, and easy to setup subscription service. But the biggest news of all, because I just had to save the best for last, is the upcoming public beta of Pocket Informant 8. WebIS has been teasing us with this for some time now. You may recall that when Judie reviewed Pocket Informant 2007, she had a few less than flattering things to say about the interface and usability of many of the complex features. With version 8, everything has been put back on the table, for what is expected to be a total overhaul of the program. The Pocket Informant 8 public beta is expected to be released within a week, so head on over to the WebIS Homepage and Forums for more information.
