Textr is a program for Windows Mobile 5 and 6 devices that offers threaded SMS messaging – and a whole bunch of other nice features.

If you’re a heavy user of text messaging, this looks nice. I don’t recall seeing a Windows Mobile app for texting that matches its capabilities. Its features include:

• Conversation based text messaging organized by who sent you the text message
• Store and archive text message conversions on a storage card
• New message pop-up notification
• Photos for your contacts which use the default contact photo on your device.
• Turns URLs into hyperlinks
• Auto emoticons
• Choose the color for your and your contact’s name
• Choose your display name
• Sort conversations
• Timestamps in conversations
• Icons depicting “new” message, “read” and “unread”
