Contest: Send Your Brain To School With Mastersoft
COMMENTS ARE NOW LOCKED. CHECK BACK FOR THE NEXT CONTEST!!!
For most of us with children, last week and this week have marked the beginning of a new school year. So, we here at JAMM are going to help you adjust to a new school year by training your brain. And, of course, in the spirit of going back to school, I will be your substitute teacher.
To enter, just sign the attendance sheet by leaving a comment on this post. For an additional chance to win, download the trial of Brain School and tell us either one thing you like about Mastersoft Brain School or one thing you would change. You can just leave that right there in the post. There is no art class scheduled for today, so we will not need you to send any screen shots.
Three winners will be selected at random by your regular teacher, Mr. NetSyd. Winners may choose from Brain School or, if you already have finished that curriculum, one of these other fine learning tools: Kakuro or Sudoku.
Hurry, contest will end whenever Brandon says it does (which will probably be this Saturday, September 15 at 8:00 PM EST).

I am aiming for the Sudoku. Well the BrainSchool’s Magic Hat is definitely great, esp for my son who is now hooked on it…He is also beginning to improve his maths with the sum games… Great stuff !!!

Brain School looks interesting. I’ve heard of it but never really tried it… I’ll download it soon. Thanks for another contest, Doug!

The thing I like about BrainSchool is the variety of games exercising your brain on music, shapes, maths, visual, logic, etc. It is a real great tool to really stimulate your left and right brains. Try it.

I want BrainSchool!
In the demo, the “which one is heavier” is really challenging.

Hi Doug, I like the school scorecard concept as it generates reports showing one’s progress, scores, and even career advisors…Cool feature really.

I like the personal best statistics, which show you what your personal best achievement is for each level. It is a good track on how you are achieving at each try, compared to your best.

The exam concept is quite a cool feature. It actually tests you on all games played in a year, very much like a school exam wherein you get tested on all subjects taught in that year.

The feature I like is the ability to track my exam results in graphs, which is a good way to show whether you are consistently good, improving or getting worse, over the days.

The good thing is that the game supports pause in the midst of an exciting / nervous game playing. This is especially critical when the phone rings and you don’t want to lose your scores just like that.

I am simply impressed by the extensive user guide written on this game. Kudos to MasterSoft and wish me luck.

I really like the musical games in Brain School.

The fact that Brain School has 20 games is already a killer amongst software of its class. And I like that a lot.

Heard all the good things. Let me be the devil’s advocate here. I think they can improve on some of the game graphics, some of them come across as quite basic.

I am not sure about you but the entertaining nature of the game is the best way to train the brain in my opinion. That to me is the key winning edge of this game.

Didn’t find it addictive, but I do like the fact that it let’s me compete against myself!

I like the “simple sums” game. I get to practice my mental arithmetic skills with the simple sums game, which can turn out to be not that simple actually.

The plastic puzzle makes me look stupid as I was stuck in level 1 for a long time. This is a very good puzzle game that makes you think critically and out of the box.
