Review: Proporta Aluminum-Lined Leather Case for the i-Mate JAQ3

The other day while I was at church, I saw someone mistreating their Sprint Mogul. It is just infuriating not to mention tormenting seeing someone stuffing a pocket PC phone in his pants pocket and hearing the jingles of his keys, coins, and who knows what else rattling around during the stuffing. This is the problem with naked devices. They not only get scratched up and damaged quickly, but they also give the owner an aura of carelessness and irresponsibility.
So how do I protect and clothe my i-Mate JAQ3 from everyday wear and tear? I use Proporta’s i-mate JAQ 3 Series Alu-Leather Case!

Continue reading to find out why Proporta’s Aluminum-Lined Leather Case offers superior protection for your JAQ3!
My mother has always taught me the value of taking care of your blessings. When I was blessed with Matthew Miller’s JAQ3, I immediately sought out a case for it. Lo and behold! Proporta soon comes knocking with their “Everything Covered” routine in action.
Product Packaging, Front, and Interior

The packaging is eye-catching and respectable. It goes to show that Proporta goes all out when it comes to quality. From excellent products, gorgeous packaging, and fantastic tea…er…I mean customer service. Here’s the case with my JAQ3 in it. Putting it in was an easy task – I just pushed it into the case into the two plastic “arms”. The latch is magnetic so it can quickly and easily be closed and secured. There are 2 slots for credit cards or memory cards. Just a word of warning, if you do decide to put memory cards, as the JAQ3 uses MicroSD, make sure to put the MicroSD in a SD card adaptor before storage as the MicroSD cards are small enough that they could slip out.

One of the things that other cases lack – the aluminum lining screen protector which is not only functional but stylish.

Back and Belt Clip
The back of the case is well thought out as it has a hole for the JAQ3’s 2 mega pixel camera. It also has additional cutouts for the JAQ3’s speaker. When you first get your case, the belt clip is not installed and there is just a single screw there. Remove the screw and you can install the belt clip. The belt clip is nice and you hear a nice *click* when it snaps into place. Be weary however to check to make sure that the belt clip is screwed on tightly to the case from time to time – through my several months of using this case, I’ve dropped my JAQ3 because the screw-on attachment portion became lose.

Yeah, a dropped JAQ3…you can bet my heart skipped a beat or two. The comforting news is that the way the case is designed, there is a good 3mm of buffer protection all around the case with the exception of the lower right corner where there is a cutout for easier access to the stylus. It doesn’t sound like much but if the device falls on a flat surface, that’s a poofy cushion – especially from a height of someone’s waist.
Sides

The sides allow full access to all ports and buttons which is fabulous! I can just stick my headphones or mini-USB to sync it. That’s the way I like it…uh huh, uh huh! Put your device in a case, and never need to take it out again….woot!
Conclusion
With all this said, I feel confident that my JAQ3 is well protected in Proporta’s Aluminum-Lined Leather Case. In addition to protection it also gives me that distinction of class and that aura of a responsible caretaker – the perfect image for a job interview or just giving a most excellent first impression. This gorgeous, high quality, leather case can be yours for only $34.95 + $4.95 S/H directly from Proporta.
There is one catch though with Proporta on this item – even though the optional belt clip is free, you have to request it by clicking the appropriate link – so please do not just click “Add to Cart”.
If you would like to receive a belt clip, free of charge, please click here and an Alu-Leather Removable Belt Clip will be added to your basket, absolutely free.
Please note: A Removable Belt Clip will not be added to your Alu-Leather Case unless you click through the above link.
