Sleek Creative ZEN Too Hot for Amazon

Creative officially unveiled its sleek new ZEN (just ZEN, thank you very much) media player today, and if you had a fast mouse finger you might have been able to place a pre-order on Amazon. Sadly, the link is now down, undoubtedly due to circuits bursting into flames from this hot little PMP.

The ZEN comes in 4GB ($249), 8GB ($349), and 16GB ($499) sizes and sports an SD slot. It’ll handle a variety of file types including DivX and iTunes Plus. Sounds awfully tempting, and it’s a lot better looking than most of Creative’s other efforts.

Uh…

“…players to set you back $149, $199, and $299…”

Got that one from Engadget.

So, how much is it? I’ll stick with my Zune/iPod if the price starts at $299.00+

This looks sweet! I might pick up one…

Darn, you’re right–those prices were in Singapore dollars! Thanks for the catch, I’ll get that fixed.

I like the looks of this one. If the Engadget pricing is correct, then that is quite a steal. $299 for all of this with a 16GB flash memory?? Sign me up.

The link in the post to Amazon is working again, and this thing looks amazing. The 8GB model is, in fact, listed at $199. But realistically, why not get the 4GB and a really big memory card…it takes a 32 GB memory card.
