flyPhone gets FCC approval … kids rejoice!

firefly2

Truth be told, I came pretty close to picking up a Firefly for my daughter not too long ago, but opted instead to have her use my wife’s old Razr and upgrade my wife to a new V3xx. I spent a lot of time on this decision, but I knew the Razr to be really durable compared to many other phones not to mention I read a lot of reports that the Firefly was subject to rather easy breakage/scratching.

Anyway, so my daughter uses a Razr and it’s just as limited in functionality now as the firefly would have been. I really wish this new FF would have hit that market a bit sooner as I would have likely jumped all over it. With a (nearly) 10 year old I’m a lot more comfortable with a device designed to withstand the rigors of childhood abuse.

Anyway, in case you just can’t wait for the flyPhone from Firefly to get your little one a new phone… I’ll post some instructions soon on how to limit the dialing capabilities of the Razr to make it a minutes safe phone for your little one to use.
