More on Sprite Backup 6, Sprite Terminator – And a JAMM Readers Discount!
Brandon posted recently on Sprite Backup quietly turning 6.
Well today Sprite have got a lot noisier, and have some great news on the new version, and on Sprite Terminator, and a reader discount for JAMM readers!
Read on for lots more detail on why Sprite Backup 6 is their best version yet (and that’s saying a lot given their top-class history), what’s new in this version, how Sprite Terminator can help secure your smartphone device from data loss, and of course how to get a JAMM reader discount on Sprite Backup 6!
What’s New & Improved in Sprite Backup 6:
Sprite have made some serious improvements to a product that was already a leader. Here’s some of those:
i) Support for backup to FTP servers
for additional off-device data protection
ii) Support for WM 6 storage card encryption – recover after a hard reset
iii) Integrated support for creation of dedicated backup storage cards
iv) New user interface – supports all form factors
v) Sprite Explorer is now bun
dled with Sprite Backup
vi) Full configuration control via PC Manager application.
vii) Common installer across all WM5 and WM6 platforms
What Is Sprite Terminator:
Sprite Terminator (formerly named Sprite Mobile Swipe) will protect your mobile device information from unauthorized access in the event of loss or theft of the device.
The software works on any Windows Mobile phone and once installed, hides away in the background until activated when required. If a phone is lost, owners just need to send an SMS message to their phone from a paired phone to lock down the phone so that a password is required to access the data. For additional peace of mind a wipe command can be sent which clears the entire contents of their phone – including memory cards. This can be used to decommission phones before passing them to friends or colleagues. If a phone is stolen, and the thief replaces the SIM card, Sprite Terminator detects this and informs the owner via a SMS message to the previously partnered phone so that the phone can be locked or wiped
Sprite Backup 6 has an MSRP of USD29.95 (same price it has been since 2003!). The Lite version price is USD19.95. Sprite Terminator is priced at USD14.95.

JAMM Readers Discount on Sprite Backup:
And … for a special JAMM reader discount of $5.00 on Sprite Backup – just use the discount code ‘patrick‘ at the Sprite Software store (without the quote marks of course – and I did not suggest that code word by the way!).

Is the discount code good on upgrade purchases for those who already own a previous version of Sprite Backup?

Dadditude – I’m not sure. maybe you could try that and let us know? I will also mail our contact at Sprite and pose the question.

As a side note to this … I’ve been trying every new rom upgrade there is for my HTC branded SDA and the ROM upgrade restore utility in version 6 has been flawless.
Version 6 of Sprite is definitely doing the job like a champ!!!

Dadditude – got an answer back from Sprite. I’m afraid the discount code will not work with an upgrade purchase. But, they did mention that “anyone who purchased Sprite Backup since April will receive an email shortly with instructions on how to upgrade to 6.0 for FREE.” Hope you are in that bracket!
