With all of the talk lately of Internet radio and the evil of the RIAA, it really seems like the smaller media venues are getting pushed around, and even out of some markets entirely, way too much.  It is turning into a world where you either succumb to the will of the media giants or you are simply forced out of the market, and replaced by a new company…more than likely one which is more compliant to the goals and whims of the media giants which are the puppet masters in this whole charade. 

So, where am I going with all of this?  Today, I received a troubling and foreboding email from Hal Goldstein, the publisher of Smartphone and Pocket PC Magazine.  In yet another example of the media giants forcing out the smaller players, in this case small and independent publishers, Hal explains that a new postal regulation, which was proposed by Time Warner was recently accepted by postal regulators.  This regulation unfairly burdens smaller publishers with higher postage rates while locking in special privileges for bigger media companies.

So, if you care about the future of smaller and independent publications, including Smartphone and Pocket PC Magazine, then help us stand up for independent media. Follow the link below to send your own message demanding that Congress step in to stop the unfair rate hikes.
