Ooma! VoIP Service Enters Invite-Only Beta

Ooma is here. What is Ooma? It is VoIP to the next level but instead of being service oriented, it is device oriented. Just plug in the Ooma hub to your broadband internet connection and use the Ooma Scouts to extend your phone line capabilities to VoIP. You’ll need 1 scout for each phone extension you have.
Each system comes with a suite of innovative features including:
- Instant Second Line™ – gives users access to a second line in their home, with no installation or new phones
- Broadband Answering Machine™ – combines the power of voicemail with the convenience of the Internet and ease-of-use of a traditional answering machine
- ooma Dial Tone™ – delivers unique tonality through an audio interface, creating a new dial tone
- ooma Lounge – provides consumers with the ability to manage their voice mail and call settings online
Currently with an invitation only beta, Ooma is slated for availability in the fall of this year. This looks very promising indeed. Thanks Geek.com for spotting this!
