I’m wondering how this compares to SK Tools’ current version. I know that many people find the MemMaid interface easier to navigate, but feature-wise (when you’re used to the interface) I don’t think this adds a lot more to SK Tools, which also does backups and is cheaper… But for some SK Tools might be too much, or too risky (I think it might be easier to do harm with SK Tools, MemMaid has seems ‘safer’ for some reason, don’t know why).
But, just like Pocket Informant / Agenda Fusion, comparison reviews take a lot of time, are quickly outdated because of updates, and often result just in “both are very capable programs, and which one you choose is just a matter of personal preference”… So that’s probably why noone takes puts in the effort.
Let me ask a question to the JAMM readers – what do you use to clean/maintain your device?
Personally I use SK Tools!

SPM, I solved this debate the only way I could…I bought both.
But you are abolsutely right this is one of those debates like SBSH and Spb which largely comes down to personal preferences.

I use Memmaid… I guess I never bothered to try SKTools out because Memmaid did what I wanted and worked really well.
Maybe it’s high time I give it a shot? Maybe a side-by-side exam?

It doesn’t hurt to get the trial.

We’re working on getting a side-by-side setup… of course it’s going to take some time, but it’ll happen. I promise to be “fair” and “impartial”

I just heard from the folks at Dinarsoft regarding their upgrade policy. If you purchased MemMaid after May 1, 2007, then this will be a free upgrade. If you purchased it earlier than that then you are entitled to a 50% discount.

I wish I could add the definitive comment, but I, too, have settled on indecision and bought both.
I agree with spmwinkel, that the SKTools interface can be a bit off putting. I also think it is easier to get into more trouble with SKTools, mainly because it does a few more things and also seems to find more “items” in each category. If you are not careful it is easy to remove registry and other items th tyo really need.
I tend to use memmaid throughout my workweek, on the fly and between hard resets. SKtools is that planned routine maintenance to really get the axim in tiptop shape. So I think there is room for both.

One featureI really like in the new MemMaid is the Protected option, which will only run those features which will not cause permanent harm to your device.
