Boxwave Motorola Q Case Review

[Jerry and Dorothy are in the elevator and a hearing impaired couple gets on. The man of the couple starts talking with his hands, then they get off]
Jerry Maguire: I wonder what he just said.
Dorothy: My favorite aunt is hearing impaired. He just said "You complete me".

That’s what this case does for the Motorola Q.  I could stop here and feel like I’ve done a complete review, but I’ll throw in just a bit more for fun.

The case comes in a beautiful box, and the shipping is quick and accurate.  Let’s open the box:

The case is covered in a protective material.  You can see the belt clip covered in plastic.

Look at the perfect fit.  The Designio is a hard leather case that is custom fitted for the Q.  It provides protection, while giving it a professional look.  Every day I deal with business professionals who pull out fancy phones from their pockets – unprotected!  I just want to scream.  You can see scratches, rubbed off letters on the buttons, camera lenses that are ruined from the abuse.  It kills me.  Why would someone spend hundreds of dollars on a sophisticated computer and not protect it?

The cutouts on the back of the shell are perfect for the speaker and camera.  You can also see where the belt clip screws in.   However, this case can be used with or without a belt clip.

The view above shows the cutouts on the side.  The user has access to all the buttons on the Q.  Below, you can see the belt clip installed.

The Q slides easily into the case, but does not come out as easily.  The case holds it in rather nicely, as it is form fitted.  It is easy to use, unobtrusive, and certainly adds a professional touch.  I highly recommend it.  You can find it at Boxwave for $24.95 after a $15.00 web special discount.

That is a smart looking case. I use a Franklin Covey leather zip case that used to hold my old HP 1940 with my Moto Q. I figured it would be efficient until you mention rubbed off letters and such! Now I’ll have to give it serious thought about getting a custom made case.
