Apple iPhone Drool Alert
If you are already suffering from iPhone envy, then this video will probably not help your affliction. The Apple website recently posted a short video (Quicktime) tour of some of the iPhones main features. I have to admit, it is an extremely slick looking device. Do yourself a favor and take a few minutes to check out the video. Whether you plan to wait in line for five days with your sights set on one of these highly anticipated devices, or whether you are still one of the many iPhone skeptics, the video is well worth a watch. Once you have watched the promo tour, you will also want to check out Matthew Miller’s insightful article, “six iPhone questions I need AT&T/Apple to answer”

That video is really quite impressive. It seems nobody knows marketing quite like Apple these days. I’ve never owned an Apple device of any kind. My music player is an app built into my WM6 device and yet…. the iPhone really is a tempting piece of kit. I’m really intrigued to see what kind of market share Steve is going to grab with this device. With strong iPod and iPhone sales Apple are pitching their iMacs and MacMinis almost as accessories for these “hot” items. Will it work? I’ve no idea but it’s a great show to watch nonetheless.

I’ve owned a couple Apple machines now… The thing I really liked was that it was a lot like owning a Linux box … that I didn’t have to spend forever having to figure out how to make all my stuff work. No need to spend forever building a kernel that met the specific needs of my system. Oh that … and my macbook would actually suspend when I closed the lid =)
