Spb Software House Releases Spb Mobile Shell 1.5
Ok – before the cut and paste job I’m about to unleash below for this press release … let me say that Spb Mobile Shell is a pretty good program. I’m working on a review of 1.5 (sorry I was a slacker and watched 4 hours of Band of Brothers instead or working on the review) but from what I’ve seen so far it’s top notch. I’d really like to group it with some other program that we all know, but it just can’t be done. It’s really a remarkable program with a today plugin (that has replaced almost all others on my Treo), a start menu replacement, a “now” screen which is very cool, and more that I’ll wait to cover in the review.
Spb Software House Releases Spb Mobile Shell 1.5
Spb Software House, the leading Windows Mobile software developer, releases Spb Mobile Shell 1.5, a long awaited update to the #1 best selling Pocket PC program (Handango, June 2007). Spb Mobile Shell introduces the next generation user interface while keeping all advantages of a Windows Mobile device. Spb Mobile Shell 1.5 brings the perfect usability balance to Windows Mobile touch screen devices. Windows Mobile is a powerful open platform and Spb Mobile Shell usability innovations make it a winner in its target market.
The new version adds the most requested features making the user interface smarter and more flexible. New features include:
- Professional layout for Now Screen
- Spb Menu customization
- Now Screen as lock screen
- Easy pinning on Today
- Integration API for third party programs
Professional Now Screen
The new professional Now Screen shows more information with flexible configuration options. It adds a simple phone profile, next alarm and graphic calendar to the Now Screen. The Classic layout is still available for users who prefer and an analog clock and a minimum amount of information on this screen.
Integration with third party programs
Spb Mobile Shell 1.5 offers an API to third party developers to integrate into Spb Menu and Now Screen. Currently an integration module for Pocket Informant, Agenda Fusion and Agenda One is available as a separate download.
Device Lock
Spb Mobile Shell 1.5 improves usability of device locking. Now you can lock your device using a hardware key, soft key on Today or a shortcut. You can also unlock the device using only soft keys. When your device is locked the Now Screen shows you the most important information, so in most cases you don’t even need to unlock the device.
Pricing and Availability
Spb Mobile Shell 1.5 is currently available in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Czech, Dutch, and Japanese languages. Spb Mobile Shell 1.5 is compatible with all Windows Mobile 5.0 and Windows Mobile 6 Pocket PC devices. A free 15-day trial can be downloaded, or Spb Mobile Shell 1.5 can be purchased for 29.95 USD, from Spb Software House website ( http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com).
