Rinfix is happy to present to the public Pocket File Manager v1.2.

- Separate access/write/creation time instead of just write time
- Toggle date and time in file info on and off
- Customizeable extension trimming for long file names
- Configurable automatic folder content refresh
- ptional Windows Mobile 5.0 – style toolbar
- Improved Windows Mobile 6.0 compatibility ’
For a full list of features see Rinfix’s website.
Rinfix’s Pocket File Manager is available for $14.95. A 30-day trial is available.
Their website does not say whether or not there is a free trial available, so I just installed the program on my Axim to find out. Upon opening the program, a few seconds later, it tells me that there is a 30 day free trial – BUT MY TRIAL IS ALREADY EXPIRED?!?Also upon trying to install it on my JAQ3, it was not happy because it did not have a signed certificate.
Until they get this fixed, I don’t even know what to think as if a user can’t even try out the software what makes the company think that someone will just shell out their hard earned economic votes? Anyway, I’m not sure if this problem is isolated to my own devices so I’ll be sending them an email. Regardless, this not a good way to make a first impression for a potential enduser.
Update: The trial expiration problem was quickly fixed. I now can run the trial on my Axim. Unfortunately, there was nothing to be done for my JAQ3.
Rinfix’s email response regarding the problem with my JAQ3:
Pocket File Manager uses an unsigned security model. It has not yet been signed using Mobile2Market or mobile operator certificates. It looks like your device is shipped by a mobile operator with a "Two-Tier-Prompt" security configuration. This means that it won’t let install or run any unsigned application.

TJ – I think if you spent a few minutes over at http://www.xda-developers.com you could figure the permissions thing out. You need to app unlock the phone. For most it’s a very simple process.
