Clinton Fitch Reviews the O2 XDA Zinc with WM6

image It seems every day there is an announcement of some new Windows Mobile device.  I know we post enough of them here at JAMM.  It is almost reaching a point where those who are around these devices every day can hardly remember which features go with each device.  Determining which is the strongest, has the best connection speed or features can be a daunting task.

Fortunately, Clinton Fitch of Clinton Fitch (dot) com! is here to help guide you through a bit of this maze with his review of the O2 XDA Zinc.  As always, Clinton does a fantastic and thorough job of testing this latest Windows Mobile phone.  Additionally, he provides what may be the first review of a device to release with the new Windows Mobile 6 Professional Operating System.  In his review, Clinton concludes:

Having used the O2 XDA Zinc for the last few weeks I have to say I’m nothing short of impressed.  The solid feel of the device, the stability of the ROM and overall use of the device is fantastic not to mention the wonderful battery life it exhibits. As with the O2 XDA Atom, when I reviewed it, the only real difficulty comes from the radio stack perspective.  O2 does not sell the devices here in the United States so, as you can imagine, they did not test their devices on US carrier’s networks.  That said, on both Cingular and T-Mobile, the Zinc worked well but did take time to find the network after reboots.  Once it did connect however I do not remember any times where it dropped my calls or when I had signal issues.

If you are a power user or looking for a Windows Mobile device you can travel without worry of battery life for a day or two, check out the O2 XDA Zinc.  It could be the answer for you!
