Cingular/AT&T BlackJack i607 Windows Mobile 6 ROM Leaked

Not gonna tell you how to get it. I don’t have a BlackJack anymore so I can’t tell you if it works or not, but so far the results seem quite positive.

If you’ve got a BlackJack and pulled the trigger on the leaked ROM let us know your thoughts!

I grabbed a copy of it before AT&T cleared the forum, loaded it up and it was off and running without a hitch. At my company we use Groupwise Mobile 2 (by Nokia Intellisync) and it also loaded up and it running like normal. Actually the combination of the WM6 colors, display views, and the Intellisync views looks great. Still working on getting the Internet to work through my laptop. Word had it that in this pre-release no one could find the Connection Manager program…but you could still use it by changing the USB to the modem setting and creating a dail-up windows connection. I could not get that to work on WM5 on mine…kept getting the 619error, and when I used the USB>Modem setting I was getting Check USB cable…the Bluetooth on WM5 worked no problem…but at least there is one method that is working, and they have have roughly the same performance.

I’m kinda sad that I didn’t get to snatch it before it got cleaned out –

Will this rom flash actually unlock the phone or put the lock back in? I’m probably going to unlock the phone so I can travel to europe, but I’d hate to pay $30 to see that the rom flash could’ve done it for free or see Cingular/AT&T’s flash reset it!

I don’t have the BlackJack anymore or I’d happily let you know… I have a feeling however that the device lock to Cingular would be unaffected by this.

If you plan on traveling to Europe – you can contact Cingular directly and they should (if you’ve been a good customer) unlock the device for you at no charge.
