The Lapworks Aluminum Desktop Stand Reviewed at Gear Diary

Posted by: dgoldring on May 11 2007

It may surprise none of you to learn that I do most of my writing on a laptop computer.  To be specific, a Toshiba Satellite A105-S4254, which I love.  The only problem is that when I sit at my desk with my laptop, it is not terribly ergonomic, and can actually become somewhat painful to my wrists after long stretches of typing.  What I really need is something to elevate my computer and hold it an angle which is more convenient for typing.

Well, now I have found a solution.  My good friend, Judie, over at Gear Diary just reviewed the Lapworks Aluminum Desktop Stand.  Judie tested this stand for several days and, found that it may just be the best designed laptop desk that she has ever reviewed.  Which begs the obvious question, how many laptop desks has Judie reviewed?

Anyway, head on over to Gear Diary to read the rest of this review.  As for me, I am going to go start my fund raising efforts to see if I can raise $60 to buy one for myself.

Looks like a fine notebook stand. Not appealing enough to make me want to trade in my Keynamics eWheelie stand though. I challenge anyone to present a better notebook stand for those of us who are happy with our notebook keyboard and like to maximize desk space:

Keynamics themselves have a horrible website but I love the stand and it revolutionised my office. I feel like a real ergonomics-conscious user when I sit down to use my notebook resting on the Keynamics stand and connected to my Evoluent Vertical mouse.

Mylvyn, you do realize the review you linked did not recommend the ewheelie?? :)
I really like the looks of the Lapworks one, although it is a it pricey. It also leaves the front end exposed so you can access any drives or ports you have there.

I knew that but the problem was that linking to Keynamics page was even worse! Fact is the ewheelie is fab.

Actually, they do seem to have a better explanatory page here:
