Contest: Mosio Keywords

Contest Ends Tuesday May 15 at 11:00 PM (CST)

A couple of weeks ago, I talked about The Mosio Project – a powerful bundle of SMS subscription services. After trying out Mosio since then, I’ve found it to have some really nifty features (more than just the Question and Answer feature which I signed up for to begin with and even became a volunteer QnAgent). Today we’ll be talking about Mosio’s Keywords. Find out how Mosio’s keywords feature can bring order to your life by jogging your memory or storing various bits of information for recall!

Read past the jump to find out more and enter to win one of three free year long subscriptions to Mosio.

MyMosio gives all Mosio users an email account for the use of keywords. This email address (it’s an autoresponder so it is not checkable) only responds to keywords as well as the word subscribe for textcasts (SMS Newsletters anyone can subscribe to).

Keywords that are created are linked to predefined messages that the user creates.

For example:

Keyword Sent to Mosio (username@mymosio.com) = JAMM
Mosio’s Response = Just Another Mobile Monday (http://www.justanothermobilemonday.com)

These keywords can be public or private and anyone can retrieve info if it is marked public. Private keywords require the use of a PIN:

Keyword = newsbreaklicense (pin#)
Response = Newsbreak – 1 user license; Name: Timothy Chan; License Code: *********

Ok, here’s what you have to do to enter this contest to win 1 of 3 year long subscriptions to Mosio:

1. Post a comment on how you would use the keywords feature and you’ll get one entry to the contest.
2. For an additional 2 entries, SMS or plaintext email tjchan"at"mymosio.com (remember to replace "at " with @) with the keyword jammcontest (if emailing, make sure to use plaintext and put the keyword in the body of the message). Then follow the instructions provided from MyMosio’s keyword response. (Relax, this is just a simple step.)

This gives you a total of 3 chances to win one of these handy dandy SMS toolkit subscriptions!

Three entries for me!

Just one question – after the year, will the subscription stop or will it be autimatically converted to a paid subscription without me knowing or wanting that?

Okay you know what – I don’t have an unlimited Text Message plan, and my HTC Wizard doesn’t allow me to send text messages to e-mail adresses. (Not even when I create a contact like they suggest on the Mosio website).
So I’d have to use e-mail, for which I need a connection, and I check my e-mail by going to gmail in my browser, not with Outlook on my device. So if I have to connect to Gmail anyway, I might as well do whatever I want to do on the web. Well in other words, I don’t think I’ll have a lot of use for this.

So I don’t know if Tjchan will allow this, but is far as I’m concerned, my two extra entries can go to the next to post. Or my entries can simply be ignored. :)
I think it would be better if the prize went to someone who actually has a use for it. ;)

spmwinkel:

From my understanding it does not automatically renew (though I will double check and get back with you).

As for the 2 extra entries going elsewhere, I’m not sure that’s possible. I’ll have to check with my boss…

So again, I’ll get back with you!

Ok, well let me keep the entries for now then.. Sorry for the trouble. ;)
I can always give up my prize afterwards if I win, and if I enter it’s more exciting for others. ;)

But I do like to hear about the subscription renewal. :)

Sorry for the changes of mind! ;)

Sounds pretty good after watching the demo – with the NFL season coming up to track a team’s score, a keyword would be “TITANS”.

I think hearing a song on the radio that I’m not familiar with would be helpful to ping a lyric to pinpoint a song title and artist.

Oh that is a great idea with the songs, Kerry. Bu, Titans, rally?? This Steelers fan is very disappointed. :)
