Windows Mobile 6 Mobile Office Suite ported to Windows Mobile 5 Smartphones

You didn’t hear it from me … and I don’t know anything about this being legal. Get it while you can get it.

Before Windows Mobile 6 only Pocket PC version (with touch screen) had Office Mobile as a feature, but MS Smartphone (no touch screen) had to live without Office Mobile at all. In Windows Mobile 6 it changed and now all Windows Mobile phones powered by Windows Mobile 6 offer Office Mobile. However if for your MS Smartphone there will be no upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 (that has Office Mobile everywhere) then you would have to buy new phone to get Office Mobile in it. Since Windows Mobile 6 is not powered by Windows CE 6 but still by Windows CE 5.x – porting obviously is easy.

I wonder if this will work for WM5 PPCs. I’ll give this a shot with my Dell Axim x51v.

Yep, it works. It replaced the WM5 Office…I hope it’s uninstallable (I’ll try that later).
