Easy Sync – Sync Windows Mobile With Desktop

We all love Active Sync, but unfortunately, Active Sync can’t do everything we need.  It only syncs to the "My Documents" folder, for example.  What if you want to sync a file on your desktop that is not in the Pocket PC My Documents file folder to a doc that is on your Pocket PC storage card?  That’s where Easy Sync comes in.

It works automatically to backup any number of files between your computer and mobile device.  It works with windows mobile 2003, 2003se, and 2005.  It costs $15 and has a free trial.

Get it here.

I take exception with “we all love Active Sync”! Personally, I can’t stand the buggy little tool that this morning informed me that there’s an error with the sync status of my Exchange server. Which error? Oh, that’ll be 85002003 of course. How thoughtful of them to give me that useful number!
They’ve also provided a wonderful “troubleshooting wizard” which can help you by asking whether you’ve connected your device properly.
ActiveSync has never been one of my favourite parts of WM5 and my understanding is that things with WMDC are no better:

Agreed… slight hint of sarcasm could be smelled in the air :)
