Thanks for the info and now I remember that policy and also remember that I didn’t like it when I first heard about it. Before I whine too much I’ll have to see what “major” changes they made since the last major upgrade. But I can’t help whining a little bit….if the major change is that it’s Wm6 capable, that’s great but I don’t think even Microsoft looks at Wm6 as a major upgrade to Wm5. If it’s the usual 25 line items of little detail changes that most users wouldn’t even notice, then you have to wonder what “major” means.
There, I feel a whole lot better now and I’ll go look at their list of major changes. Maybe I’ll flog myself later today for being jumping to conclusions.

Well I’m lucky enough to only purchased the previous version 4 months ago so I have 2007 running now for free.
On the Description page, the bold items are new. The main new things are:
Status bar (bottom of the screen, indicating how many files are there, with their size)
Quick-search bar (for example, when you’re in \Windows\ and press a letter on a hardware keyboard, you jump down to the first item with that letter, and then you can continue typing to quickly search something. However, if you don’t have an external keyboard, I think you NEED to press Menu – Edit – Quick Navigation before this also works with your on-screen SIP)
Advanced Network Settings (Don’t know, I don’t use FTP)
File Types Highlighting (Just lay-out as far as I can see, now items have different colors. Like in some forums, one message background is slightly lightblue, the next is slightly darkblue, and the next is lightblue again. You can also highlight certain filetypes.
Today Plugin with Task Manager (The Task Manager part is new, but if you use WA2 or iL I don’t think this adds a lot; I don’t have the Resco Today Plugin installed anyway)
Folder Properties — recursive file attribute setting (Don’t know what this is)
So I’m not sure if you will find it enough to upgrade, it’s not like adding Task Manager funtionality and Safe Mode to iLauncher, in my opinion. But for me (free upgrade) it’s quite nice.

I just got the upgrade (free since I purchased Resco Explorer 2005 less than a year ago). There are a lot of little differences, I think it is a little cleaner to use. Not sure if it worth paying for, but definately worth the time to upgrade.
One note for those of you who are upgrading, your Explorer 2005 key will not work. You have to contact Resco and ask them to resend your codes (from the support page). If you are entitled to a free upgrade, you will get a code for the new version.

I’ve tried using the recovery tool, and that also gave me the new key. It did say that it was for 2005, but when I contacted Resco they said that they just needed to update that ‘2005′ to ‘2007′. So that *should* work too.
