Unboxing – The Samsung Upstage from Sprint via Gadgetell
For those of you who haven’t seen this phone advertised yet, the samsung upstage is a pretty ingenious device. First of all its not just your typical candybar style phone, but a flip it over and it’s a whole other device kind of phone.
the Upstage is a dual-sided candybar phone that has phone functionality on one side, and MP3 player functionality on the other. You can then toggle between them with the "Flip" button on the side.
I had a chance to watch this get demo’d on my Tivo by Kent German from C|net at the CTIA wireless show and I have to admit it’s pretty slick. The cool thing is for once you don’t have to buy the headphones spearately (but they do use that crap ass samsung connector) and you see that case in the box there? That’s also an extended battery… built right into the case. Super cool setup and very ingenious use of something you would already be carrying around. All in all I think this is a great device to challenge the Chocolate and various other "music" phones.
