SBSH Release ContactBreeze 2.0
In a press release today, SBSH announced the release of ContactBreeze 2.0. This is a free upgrade for all users of ContactBreeze 1.x and will cost $9.95 USD for new users.
Also released today was a new version of PocketBreeze which is updated to integrate with the new ContactBreeze.
Following the new PocketBreeze 5.2 release a month ago, introducing the new Contacts tab as a new built-in tab with PocketBreeze 5.2, we’ve re-designed the new ContactBreeze 2 completely from the beginning as a new stand-alone full screen application designed to provide users with the fastest way possible to search and locate contacts, along with dialing/SMS capabilities for Phone Edition users – allowing users to reach their contacts all the time. Along with the thumbs keyboard searching screen capabilities you will also find with this new version a new "Tweaks" section that is designed to enhance Phone Edition users accessibility to phone numbers that are included with your appointments or tasks on your device.
| SBSH ContactBreeze 2 Highlights
Large thumbs keyboard – ContactBreeze 2 was completely re-coded from the beginning and comes with a new large thumbs keyboard for easy contact searching, T9 searching algorithm, multiple alphabets support and more! One hand navigation – New interface was designed with complete one-hand navigation operation in mind which vastly improve ContactBreeze usability when you need it the most. Tweaks – New Tweak options section added, featuring the all new PIM Dialing tweak. Using PIM Dialing, ContactBreeze will add a new menu extension item to your Calendar and Tasks applications allowing you to easily dial and SMS to phone strings embedded within your appointments and tasks. Windows Mobile 6 Compatibility – ContactBreeze 2 is compatible with Pocket PC 2003, Windows Mobile 5 and Windows Mobile 6 operating systems. |

It’s a lot faster than the “public beta” that they released but try entering a few characters to search by and then deleting them to search again – long delay and the Windows countdown wheel appears for far too long. I prefer Spb’s Mobile Shell with the contacts app built in – it’s faster, slicker and also allows me to search by number. Plus they show me the complete contact info for a result (including photo etc).
Since I own a license for Contact Breeze I keep coming back to check it it’s going to catch up. Maybe v3.
