The Problem With Joost @ Blogcritics.org


I’ve heard so much about Joost. Some of it can only be described as hyperbolic crap, some of it is intriguing opinion. I’m a little late to the party, but with the release of Joost 0.9 I thought I’d give it a try.

This is a pretty good read because it pretty much sums up why Joost is sitting dormant on my desktop collecting dust bunnies and causing the Desktop Cleaning Wizard to beg me to let it put it into an unused icons folder…

This has been almost exactly my reaction to Joost as well. It is very cool looking and a great idea. But there is literally nothing on. The only thing I found worth watching were old episodes of Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Great idea, I would have loved to beta this, but no dice as far as the software on my home PC (running Win XP). Get with the times, Joost, offer a Linux client! I’m gonna go and pirate some time with my wife’s laptop and try it again.
