Vodafone.net says ‘sorry’ | The Register


 Vodafone.net (email) is back online according to a Vodafone spokesperson quoted by The Register -

When asked to explain the lengthy outage a Vodafone spokesperson told The Reg: “I can confirm that we suffered a simultaneous hardware and software failure, which is why it has taken longer than we would have liked to resume the service.

“Customer activity is now at normal levels and we continue to monitor the service very closely.”

Through various updates The Register has been covering this “LITLLE” outage since Friday March 16… I don’t know about you but when I was a sys admin responsible for such things (in a small company) 1 week without email services would have led to my untimely demise. No word on who’s going to be visiting Monster.com over this debacle.

Vodafone … I work for a company that would be happy to help you review your disaster (and this obviously was) recovery processes. Give me a ring.   :P

Seems like for days now – (today being Wednesday 16 Sept 2009), it is not possible to log on to vodafone.net to collect my emails.
