Palm Possibly Purchased?

Palm Inc. could be sold for at least $20 per share this week and several bidders are interested, according to tech news site Unstrung.Com.

These include Texas Pacific Group, Nokia, and Motorola.

It is speculated that Palm Inc. hired Morgan Stanley to find a buyer, and that Morgan wants to ink a deal by March 22, which is coming, uh, tomorrow.  The software division was sold awhile back.  While the Treo line is at a zenith, perhaps it really is a good time to get while the getting is good, and hand the reigns over to a company willing to take the next step with the Palm brand.

What do you think?  Is this a smart move for Palm?
