SanDisk Announces 32GB 2.5″ Solid State Drives


CeBit is the hotspot for SanDisk’s announcement of its new $350 drive.  It seems like yesterday that Samsung announced theirs, but it was actually at last years CeBit.

This drive can act as a drop-in replacement for a Serial ATA drive, but it doesn’t have moving parts.  The future is solid state.  Solid state drives have the advantage of low power consumption, the reliability that comes from having less moving parts, better performance because data moves 100 times faster from an SSD than from a spinning disk, and they run cooler and quieter.
