Presenting Skype Prime! Just dial 1-900-SKYPE-US and you can "Pay Per Skype" to talk to an expert in (insert dramatic pause) sausage engineering! Ok, the phone number is just a dud, but the concept of Skype Prime is indeed pay per Skype which potentially opens up a whole new way to Skype – not to mention make a living.

Skype Prime is a new feature built into Skype 3.1 beta for Windows which handles all billing necessary for both customer and the provider. Calls first start off as free before both parties enter a "pay per minute" or "pay per call" mode which is paid for in Skype credit.

Prime callSkype credits can then be withdrawn to a PayPal account. Certainly this has possibilities and allows one essentially get an "expert on the line" with a network specialist, programmer, or teacher. If one has an expertise in an area, they can be a provider and provide services for those seeking such knowledge thereby opening the possibilities of many work at home opportunities.

The middle man always gets paid – and Skype is no exception taking a whopping 30% commission on all services charged by the provider.

Keeping Skype clean, the providers cannot offer the following:

• Content or Service, which is adult, sexual , pornographic or paedophiliac;
• Content or Service which is offensive or promotes or legitimates racism, revisionism, or any other form of discrimination;
• Content or Service relating to the offering of gaming, betting and lotteries;
• Content or Service provoking violence
• Content or Service provoking or encouraging reprehensible or illegal actions.
• Content or Service relating to health and therapy
• Content or Service relating to legal or tax advice

Skype has attempted to take the ambitious step of building a full-service marketplace, and it cam extremely close with Skype Prime.  The only feature missing from this initial offering  is the ability to leave feedback on individual "expert" providers. Hopefully this will be coming soon.
