Could Slacker be the next "Digital Music" Revolution?

How many times has something been labelled the iPod Killer, only to end up drowning in the deep end… and you’re stuck with a player (Cough Cough Zune Cough) that has a hard time playing anything but DRM? How many times has someone come out with a new music service and tanked immediately because nobody wanted to pay for it? How many times have you setup a playlist, paid for all the tunes, started listening to it and figured out you picked nothing but crap?

Slacker – an as yet to be released new music service (beta) - might end up being different from all the others. And here’s why:

1. It’s got it’s own player (not yet) - with a 4" screen and WIFI designed around the service… not as an after thought

2. There’s a free service and a Premium service

3. It works off of Internet Radio (no DRM) which basically turns the service into your own personal "favorites" only radio station

4. No "Playlists" or a-la-carte pay-per-song downloads (yet)

5. Support for MP3, WMA, subscription (DRM) WMA’s from other services, and video once the portable player comes out

6. Aww forget it. Just click the link below for the details.
