T-Mobile: Security Fix Leaves Some Customers In the Dark

JKontheRun has the explanation and a solution for the recent T-Mobile data service outages. T-Mobile in an effort to roll out security to block internet access to those without an appropriate data plan has ended up blocking even legitimate users. To fix this, call T-Mobile and they will reset your T-Mobile Internet account for your phone. Unfortunately, it will still take up to 48 hours to for the reset to complete.
There appears also to be an unconfirmed proxy level fix for the time being. By setting your phone to a proxy of 216.155.165.50 (port 8080). You can regain access.
T-Mobile customer reps have been informed of the potential customer service calls and this internal memo has been issued:
