Wow, the air is thick with the haze of cell phone rumors.  It seems that Sprint and Nextel must have started off some kind of a merger trend, because everyone is looking to jump on this bandwagon.

 In the wake of the AT&T takes over the world merger with Cingular, it looks like Verizon may be cooking up a merger of its own.  According to WMExperts, Verizon may be well on its way to purchasing Alltel, the nation’s largest rural cell phone provider.

Meanwhile, rumors have been circulating that Palm may be acquired by another company.  Brighthand is reporting that the bidding process for Palm has already begun, with Nokia proving to be an early front runner, up against at least one private equity firm.
