Ok so i have been going at it legally with sprint over my chronically malfunctioning 6700′s, so finally i chose to take them to court to recover the costs so i can get the 6800 when it comes out since they refused to upgrade me like that did with my treo, then my 6600 and then 6601. I was told that the phone would be available in MAY! And that came direct from corp. So i think that is pretty legit.

will i be able to send a picture as a txt message on the 6800? you could on the 6600, but that feature was taken on the 6700

The latest I heard was that the 6800 is not going to be released till September ’07. It was supposed to be May but not anymore.

Rita, I had not heard that September 2007 rumor. Everything I have heard indicates that Sprint is within 1 month of releasing this phone. Not that I would be surprised if they ended up waiting until September. I just had not heard that.

I was at the Sprint store and was also told May 2007 for the release of the 6800. We’ll see!

dgoldring,

Perhaps sprint_rep could also share the fact that he’s full of sh**, as the device did not come out yesterday.

Hey, Guava. Yeah, lately we had heard that the PPC-6800 could be delayed until as late as October. The reason for the delay was so that the phone could ship with WM6 installed, rather then issue an upgrade later. Too bad, I was really looking forward to this one.

I am an Indirect Dealer from Queens, NY. I received conformation today from my Sprint Account Manager that “the PPC-6800 will be realased on June 18th exclusively at COMP USA”

Sorry but according to him he has the last two Comp USA accounts left in the nation and they are both located in NYC. However I do not know wich two.

Just got mine two days ago..yep had it overnighted. The only thing few things I don’t like so far is that it’s seems to be made for left handed peoplethe screen slides to the left the scroll wheel is on the left. With keypad the main buttons are on the left.I’ll get used to that. the other thing is i can’t send picture mail…wtf err hello sprint the phone does everything..but picture mms…even the free 49.99 phone does that.

Other than that I love the phone it’s VERY FAST for a pda phone, signals great..speaker is very low..but all sprint speakerphone suck.. they should use nextel’s their loud and clear. It has a very good resolution 2mp camera and it multitasks like a hooker.. The phone feature/processor wise knocks everything else out..they were gunning for the iphone with this phone.

Ok so I was half wrong! I still forgive you “Rita”…
Actually I am just happy to get rid of that “BRICK” T-Mobile calls the Wing.

Does anyone know an exact date when the Mogul will hit the retail store? I have a hard time getting the phone, eventhough I want to pay full price. It’s hard to get one through online. Thanks in advance everyone.

Correct me is I’m wrong but isn’t that the Mogul?? If so … it’s live on their website.

Yes, it is the Mogul. I believe that it is only available online right now (and possibly in certain stores). Not sure why the retail stores did not get it or when it is coming.
