Stylus As Joystick on Nokia Phones in Future?

Via: Engadget Mobile

Not that we’re not a fan of pop-out joysticks on mobile phones (just think of the gaming consequences), but Nokia has semi-joined that party now with an even better patent (application): a stylus that is inserted into a socket in what appears to be a d-pad that really has the capability to turn a phone into an ultra-sensitive and tactile gaming platform.

That just looks odd to me. Very odd. And awkward. I’m not really much of a gamer on mobile devices at all – so maybe some of you are out there saying ‘Oh Yeah’ when looking at the sketch.

For all the details see This Article at the joystiq.com site.

And any of you mobile gamers out there, let me know about that odd / awkward thing …

Hehe I hope they pimp up the phone though!
Idea could be nice, as long as it doesn’t ruin the way the device looks and feels if you prefer NOT to use the stylus joystick.
