Mobigloo’s Texas Hold’em Poker Odds Calculator Pro Review

After spending some time with Mobigloo’s Odds Calculator, I have a finer appreciation for my poker game.  Because even though you can’t use this during a live game, you certainly can use it during bathroom breaks to see if you should’ve folded or gone for it.  And you can definitely use it for online poker.

Why can’t you use this during live games?  Firstly, nobody would let you use a calculator, and secondly, it would slow the game down and upset people.  But if you get proficient at it, and it is easy to use, you can use it online, like I said.

Here’s what it looks like.

You can track up to 8 hands.  You simply drag and drop the cards from the bottom to the hands.

In this pretend hand, I dealt out a classic "race", AK suited versus a pair.  Hit "calculate" and you see that preflop the pair is slightly favored to win.

But things changed after the flop, didn’t they?  The AK hand has a wheel draw, which is the lowest straight, A2345, and a flush draw.  That hand is now favored.  But notice that there is a chance for a tie.  The odds add up to 98%, because a straight on the board ties for both hands.

Now the odds swing back again toward the pair of jacks.  The AK hand needs a 5, an A, a King, or a club to win.  An easy way to calculate the odds with 2 cards left to deal is to figure out how many "outs" you have left and multiply by 4.  When you have one card left, multiply by 2.  Let’s see if it works.  There are 3 aces, 3 kings, 9 clubs, and 3 fives, leaving 18 outs.  18 times 2 equals 36%.  That’s pretty close.  If we multiply 18 times 4 that equals 72%.  The percentage after the flop for the AK was 61%, so my trick was pretty close.  Let’s see the last card.

A little note – I’m choosing all the cards at random from a deck on my table.

The pair of jacks win!  Poker is about luck and skill.  You have to make the most skillful moves with the cards you have, then leave the rest to chance.  Every once in awhile you can get away with a bluff, but the most skilled players are those who know their odds and YOUR odds before they make a move.  That’s what makes this product so valuable.  If you play poker and you think you’re good, then you should know your odds at all times.  If you don’t, then make a small investment in your game.
