Marware Sportsuit Convertible Review
I have an old, second generation iPod, and for some reason I never upgraded the case. I use the original case, which is rugged, but has no window for me to see what’s playing. So anytime I want to see the song or hit any button, I must remove the iPod from the case to do so. The only cases I’ve been able to find in my many months’ long search have been those rubbery ones that are difficult to get in and out of your pocket. Plus, they get dirty easily. I’d like a case that allows access to the buttons, shows the playlist window, protects my unit, and has a clip. I think I’m asking for something reasonable. Yet, I had the hardest time finding it because my unit is so old.
Last week, while searching the internet for cool products, I happened upon Marware. As usual, I thought I finally found a place that had a case for me. But before I got too excited, I thought back to all my previous disappointments. However, I actually found a case that they claimed would fit, the Sportsuit Convertible.

I picked one in red. They come in 4 colors and fit the first two generation iPod players. You can also get it without the lid. In this picture you can see the player is protected by plastic, the buttons are fully accessible, and there is a cut out for the scroll wheel. The sides of the case are made of rubber and are protective. The top and bottom are neoprene and are thick enough to protect, yet thin enough to not add significant bulk.

The body and the lid are joined by velcro. You can see the cutout for the headphone jack in the lid. The lid is form molded to protect the iPod. The lid also contains a pocket for storage such as earphones. That’s very creative.

This image above shows you have access to the hold button as well as the headphone jack. It also shows how the case is closed tight with velcro and how the lid attaches to the back of the body. You can also see the clip. Marware touts their "Multiadapt" interchangeable clip system. The clip can be left on or removed and or used with other items.

Attached to the clip is the car holder. You can attach it to your dashboard with the peel and stick adhesive tape or screw it on if you dare. Below is another look at the car holder:

The products came in the mail quickly. I was expecting to pay quite a bit, and was pleasantly surprised to find very reasonable prices, great quality and service. The case costs $9.95 and the car holder costs $5.95.

Overall, I’m extremely happy with the quality of the case. I’m also very impressed with the creativity used in the design. The website was very navigable and my shopping experience was pleasurable. I will definitely shop there again.
